The spider flower (Cleome spinosa) is handsome plant with globe-shaped
flower heads and elegant green, divided leaves. The fragrant flowers
open from midsummer until fall and come in white, delicate pink, and
purple. In a tub the plants rarely exceed 2 ft (60 cm), but in
well-prepared ground in a border they can grow up to 4 ft (120 cm) tall.
Popular species and cultivars
'Cherry Queen' has carmine-pink flowers.
'Color Fountain' has pink, rose, purple, lilac, and white flowers.
'Helen Campbell' is white.
