Dwarf morning glory (Convolvulus tricolor), the only annual in the genus, has all the beauty of its cousin, the white-flowered perennial bindweed (C. arvensis), without its strangling habit. Its funnel-shaped flowers, which are on display from midsummer until early fall, are a magnificent deep blue with white or yellow throats. Carried on 6-15 in (15-38 cm) high, bushy and erect plants with oval dark green leaves, they look most effective formal beds or mixed borders.
