This little-known South African plant is rather special as it is one of
the few daisy look-alikes with blue flowers. These appear in great
profusion throughout the summer, with slender blue petals arranged
around a yellow central disk. The plants form attractive domes of
gray-green foliage and make excellent window-box fillers or edging for
borders.
Popular species and cultivars
Felicia amelloides (blue marguerite) has sky-blue flowers, standing 11/2
ft (45 cm) above domes of midgreen foliage from early until late summer.
Felicia bergerana (kingfisher daisy) is a dwarf species (6 in/15 cm
high) with gray-green foliage and steel-blue flowers from early summer
to early fall.
