It bears spikes of narrow tubular flowers, resembling miniature snapdragons, which can be bright yellow, red, pink, or mauve, of ten blotched with white. Flowering throughout the summer in regions such as the Pacific Northwest, where summers are cool, toadflax blooms in late spring to early summer or winter where summers are hot. It is suitable for annual and mixed borders, rock gardens, and edging a path. For best effect, grow in groups of five or seven plants.
