Bells of Ireland - a misnomer, as the species Moluccella laevis comes
from Syria - is a favorite among flower arrangers, not because of its
flowers, which are small insignificant, but because of the large pale
green bell-like calyxes that surround them. These are arranged in tall,
graceful spikes 9 in (23 cm) long and borne on erect stems clothed with
rounded light green leaves. These plants make unusual border plants make
