Forget-me-nots offer a delightful succession of tiny pure blue or pink flowers, each with a white or yellow eye, from midspring to early summer. They are planted mainly in beds with spring-flowering bulbs, though they also make attractive long-lasting cut flowers - only when the sprigs are taken indoors are the neatness and delicate coloring of the tiny flowers fully appreciated. They are also useful at the front of mixed borders, in woodland gardens, and at the edges of garden shrubbery.

Popular species and cultivars
The plant's cultivars all stem from Myosotis alpestris and M. sylvatica.
'Blue Ball' forms compact ball-shaped plants that are just 6-8 in (15-20 cm) high and bear indigo-blue blossoms. It is excellent for edging.
'Carmine King' carries rich pink flowers on compact plants and grows up to 8 in (20 cm) high.
'Royal Blue' will grow up to 1 ft (30 cm) high, producing loose sprays of indigo-blue flowers. It is one of the earliest cultivars to bloom.
'Victoria Hybrids' form mounds 6-8 in (15-20 cm) tall with flowers that may be gentian-blue, all white, rose, or pink.
