Diseases

Before you can deal with plant diseases, you need to understand them. Unfortunately, the majority of diseases that can infect a plant are much more difficult to define than insects and pests. Insects are organisms with specific tangible traits and characteristics, whereas plant illnesses can be anything that hinders or otherwise interferes with normal growth functions and processes (such as photosynthesis and water intake).

The easiest way to understand these diseases is by classifying them into two categories. Infectious diseases can be spread from one plant to the next. Non-infectious diseases are unable to be transferred between plants and can spawn from environmental factors such as air pollution, nutrient imbalances, and waterlogged soil.
